 LEGEND OF CANDI PRAMBANAN

Prambanan is incredibly beautiful building built in the 10th century during the reign of two kings, and Rakai Rakai Pikatan Balitung. Towering 47 meters (5 meters higher than Borobudur temple), the foundation of this temple has fulfilled the desire to show Hindu triumph in Java Island. Pantai sukomade

          Jarak Pantai Sukomade kira-kira 97 km ke arah barat daya dari kota Banyuwangi. Pantai Sukomade merupakan pantai yang tenang dan indah. Pada mulanya pantai ini ditemukan oleh Belanda pada tahun 1927. Karet, kopi dan coklat ditanam di tanah perkebunan seluas 1200 hektar. Sukomade meropakan hutan lindung alam di Jawa Timur yang berhubungan dengan penangkaran penyu. Perjalanan malam hari ke pantai Sukomade menjadi tak terlupakan. 

         

Para pengunjung dibimbing oleh para pemandu penjaga hutan yang berpengalaman untuk melihat penyu yang mendarat ke pantai dan bertelur di pantai pasir. Penyu betina biasanya bertelur hingga ratusan yang diletakkan di dalam pasir di pantai. Penyu betina biasanya mulai mendarat di pantai jam 07.30 malam dan kembali ke laut pada jam 12.00 malam hari.Bulan Nopember hungga Maret adalah musim penyu bertelur. Jalan ke sukamade sangat menantang untuk dijelajahi. Sepanjang jalan untuk mengunjungi tempat ini, para pengunjung bisa berhenti di pantai Rajegwesi. Jangan juga sampai melewatkan Teluk Hijau, sebuah teluk hijau dengan karang terjal yang indah mengitari. Berpesiar di pagi buta untuk melihat binatang-binatang yang merumput di padang rumput juga mengesankan. Tempat-tempat tersebut merupakan tempat yang masih alami yang harus anda tahu di ujung timur pulau jawa.

Pantai Sukamade merupakan salah satu obyek wisata yang terdapat di zona pemanfaatan intensif TNMB yang sangat potensial untuk kegiatan ekowisata. Atraksi yang dapat dilakukan adalah pengamatan penyu bertelur, pelepasan tukik, bird watching, camping, pengamatan rafflesia, dan berkano.

Pantai Sukamade merupakan habitat tempat penyu bertelur. Di tempat ini wisatawan dapat menyaksikan secara langsung aktifitas penyu naik ke pantai, bertelur maupun hanya sekedar memeti. Di tempat ini juga terdapat penetasan semi alami untuk menetaskan telur-telur penyu yang telah dikumpulkan oleh petugas. Wisatawan dapat turut aktif dalam usaha konservasi penyu dengan mengikuti kegiatan pelepasan tukik ke laut setelah ditetaskan pada penetasan semi alami.
Fasilitas yang terdapat di lokasi ini antara lain: Pondok Wisata, Camping Ground yang dilengkapi dengan pendopo untuk ruang pertemuan, Shelter, jalan trail wisata, information centre, laboratorium dan pondok kerja.
Obyek wisata lain yang ada di Pantai sukamade adalah Hutan mangrove yang terletak di muara timur Pantai Sukamade. Sungainya dapat dipakai berkano pada sore hari sambil melakukan pengamatan burung (Bird Waching) seperti Roko-Roko, Elang laut, Dara Laut dan masih banyak lagi burung burung yang dapat diamati, hal ini biasanya dilakukan sambil menunggu Sunset.

Untuk menuju ke sana, anda dapat menggunakan kendaraan umum atau pribadi. namun perlu diingat medan yang berbukit-bukit dituntut untuk menyesuaikan jenis kendaraan anda. Dari Kota Banyuwangi menuju ke kota Pesanggaran (60 km) kemudian dilanjutkan ke Sarongan (20 km) dengan angkutan umum atau truk. Sarongan-Rajegwesi-Sukomade (17 km). Tersedia Cottage dan Camping Ground untuk menginap bagi para wisatawan.
